Dr. Sidney Yuan has been chosen to receive the Dr. Alexander C. Liang Award, which is given annually to two staff members at the Aerospace Corporation.
Yuan is Manager in the Spacecraft Thermal Department within the Vehicle Systems Division. He monitors contractors on all thermal and cryogenic issues for US government agency space programs. His organization is responsible for overseeing cryocooler technology used in various space programs. He was also co-chair of the 2009 Space Cryogenics Workshop, and was the editor for the Proceedings from the workshop.
The award is named in the honor of Dr. Alex Liang, General Manager of the Vehicle Systems Division, who passed away last year.
