Praxair Canada Inc, a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc. has signed an agreement to supply Essar Steel Algoma Inc.’s steel mill with a cryogenic air separation plant. The plant, which will be fully integrated into Praxair’s existing air separation facilities in at Essar in Sault St. Marie, Ontario, Canada, will supply 900 tons per day of gaseous oxygen.
Essar Steel Algoma Inc. is a steel producer that manufactures and sells hot and cold rolled steel products. The new plant is scheduled to start up in early 2011.
Essar Steel Algoma’s CEO Armando Plastino commented that Praxair has been a reliable supplier to the company for more than 50 years.
