JC Carter, LLC has received an order for 22 third generation pumps for the liquefied natural gas terminal located in Singapore on Jurong Island. JC Carter is a designer and manufacturer of cryogenic submerged motor pumps.
The pumps will be utilized in three LNG storage tanks currently under construction on the island by Singapore LNG Corporation Pte. Ltd. (SLNG) and its engineering, procurement and construction partner Samsung C&T Corporation. This LNG facility, Singapore’s first, will help the country meet its gas needs and take advantage of business opportunities in the LNG market.
The order consists of three in-tank and send-out pumps per tank, two reloading pumps per tank, six total high pressure booster pumps and one LNG drain pump.
“The pumps we are designing today, and which will be installed at Jurong Island, are custom built based on their specific application and feature low NPSH characteristics allowing for more efficient use of the tank,” said Dennis Chalmers, Vice President of Engineering and Technology at JC Carter.
Founded in 1947, JC Carter is the world’s first designer and manufacturer of cryogenic submerged motor pumps (SMP).
