Mike Lindgren has been appointed as the head of Fermilab‘s Particle Physics Division. Lindgren has been a scientist with the lab since 2004, and most recently served as acting head of the division.
Under his leadership, the division has experienced many successes, not only with the Tevatron, but also with construction projects for MINERvA and the Dark Energy Survey experiment.
“The Tevatron experiments, CDF and DZero, have been a major focus of our science mission for the past 25 years,” Lindgren said. “The shift from operating those experiments and completing that science program, while ramping up the LHC and Intensity Frontier efforts, will make for an exciting time for the division and the laboratory.”
