AIP is working to enrich Niels Bohr Library & Archives collections by improving the documentation of women and underrepresented people in the physical sciences.  They collect visual documentation of the personal and professional lives of physical scientists. Their collection contains images of modern American physicists, astronomers, geophysicists and many other kinds of scientists.

In general, they are looking for photos related to work in the physical sciences, including:

  • Formal and informal portraits of physical scientists
  • Photographs of physical scientists at work, attending events and conferences, engaged in leisure activities, etc.
  • Photographs of physical science instruments, preferably identified
  • Photographs of physical science research and educational settings with or without people

To submit a photo for donation to the AIP Emilio Segrè Visual Archives, please use this form. If you have multiple photos that you would like to submit and you would prefer to transfer them in bulk, please contact AIP directly at nbl@aip.org to discuss a formal donation.
