I am constructing a cryogenic generator for the Air Force. It operates at 15,000 rpm for Liquid Hydrogen. I need a rotating shaft seal that will work with liquid to gaseous hydrogen. Where can I source seals for this application?

August 1, 2008I was with Rockwell for 8 years working on superconducting motors. We looked at every conceivable option and gathered extensive experience. Per Greg Rhodes, this is an SBIR. I’m willing to offer some help even though I’m not sure how it works out. You might also want to check with Rockwell. To my knowledge, they didn’t file a patent. Please contact me if you’re interested. Good luck with your search.
