NASA’s Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or “WISE” satellite, recently underwent a comprehensive pre-shipment review. Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp. completed the review on August 4th. Ball Aerospace is responsible for building the WISE spacecraft, as well as integrating its infrared cryogenic science instrument and performing testing requirements.
The WISE mission will survey the sky at infrared wavelengths to catalogue millions of objects over the course of its seven month journey.
The Jet Propulsion Laboratory manages WISE for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate.
