I am looking for the thermal conductivity of the high density polyethylene (HDPE) between 1.9 and 10K (or even up to higher temperatures). The best would be to have these data for the HDPE material which sold by the CERN shop, which has a density of 0.95 g/cm3.

January 6, 2010You might want to look up Günther Hartwig’s book:
“Polymer properties at room and cryogenic temperatures”, page 262, which gives thermal conductivity data on HDPE from 1 K to 300 K, taken from 3 different references.
e.g.
Perepechko. I.I.; Low-Temperature Properties of Polymers, Pergamon Press (190), page 57, Engeln, J. and M. Meissner, Nonmetallic materials and composites at low temperatures; Plenum Press, NY (1982), page 4
