In early February, M&I Materials was visited by the Prince of Wales at their Manchester UK facility. The company was the only commerical business visited by the Prince during his tour of Manchester.
Colin Salt, Chairman of M&I, gave the tour of the company’s manufacturing facilities and introduced the Prince to the company’s product range, including Apiezon, Metrosil, Midel and Wolfmet. “Apiezon N Grease” is one of the most widely used vacuum greases within the field of cryogenics. It is used to ensure vacuum tight seals in vacuum lines, cold traps, and optical parts on electron microscopes, ground glass joints, stopcocks, taps, Schlenk lines and liquid helium hoses.
The Prince also met some of M&I’s employees during a tour of the offices.
M&I Materials was chosen for the visit for its outstanding achievement in export and manufacturing. Giles Salt, Managing Director, said: “Our success in the last year is testament to a company that is not content to stand still. I am very proud of the whole team.”
