Thomas J. Ward, Air Products and Chemicals, has been elected the 2010 Chairmen of the CGA Board of Directors. The election took place on April 27, 2010 at the Annual Meeting of the Members in Coral Gables FL.
Ward joined Air Products in 1981 and was appointed vice president of North America Merchant Gases for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. in August 2007.
“I am excited to take the reins as Chairman in what could be a rebuilding year, and one that I hope is marked by continuous building of momentum,” said Ward. “I am committed to continuing our mission of promoting safe practices and driving self governance for our industry.”
According to Ward, some of the key priorities for CGA in the coming year include continued advocacy for global climate change and the medical gas unapproved drug issue, hydrogen activities with the Department of Energy, and supporting the efficient and effective drive to achieve the appropriate level of global harmonization.
