Cold Technology for Pest Control

While it does not reach temperatures cold enough to be called cryogenic, carbon dioxide snow is at the heart of a new way of dealing with unwanted pests. It utilizes a quick freezing process that takes advantage of the properties of carbon dioxide snow and has a number of benefits over conventional extermination processes. A unit with a spray nozzle delivers a quick blast that destroys bugs and their eggs and larvae.

The snow is able to penetrate into cracks and crevices and does not cause damage to machines or electrical cabinets. Because the method does not involve chemicals, evacuation of the treated area is not necessary, and it can even be used on surfaces in direct contact with food.

Cryonite is one company that has recently developed cold technology for pest control, a sign that this quick, non-poisonous method is becoming a more attractive alternative to chemical-based extermination methods.
