Wilson Cross, who worked in Fermilab’s Cryogenic Department for 30 years, died on June 25. His supervisor, Jay Theilacker, said Wilson was an enthusiastic teacher and fun-loving person.

“If he saw negativity, he would address it and turn it around,” said Theilacker.

Cross’ positive character and wealth of knowledge came in handy during his long career, in which he helped build cryogenic components for the Tevatron, antiproton and SCRF facilities.

In 2001, Cross was diagnosed with leukemia.

“He worked right up to the end,” said the Technical Division’s Ed Hagler. “I could tell that was very important to him.”
