The Consul General of Japan visited TRIUMF on September 2 to learn about the history of partnerships between TRIUMF and the Japanese research community.
Mr. Hideki Ito was greeted with green tea before being presented with an overview of the facility by Director Nigel Lockyer. Next, Mr. Ito had the chance to speak with a number of researchers about their connections with Japan: the partnering on the Tokai-to-Kamioka (T2K) neutrino experiment, visiting scientists who work with rare-isotope beams, and the complementary nature of the RIKEN RBF facility and TRIUMF’s IASC facility, to name just a few.
