We regret to report that Professor Albert Lacaze passed away August 5 at the age of 87. Lacaze had been an important leader in the French cryogenics community since the early 50s. His career began in 1947 with the development of the first hydrogen and helium liquefiers in France. He was the director of the Très Basses Températures (Very Low Temperatures) section of the French CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) in Grenoble and active member of the International Cryogenic Engineering Committee.

At ICEC19 in Grenoble, Lacaze was honored in a small celebration attended by many of his colleagues and those he helped in their careers.
