I would like to construct a small cooling circuit (appr. 50 x 50 cm) pumping liquid at a temperature down to -120°C from a cold reservoir to the specimen to be cooled. The tubes and connections are not a problem, but does somebody know a pump (suction/compression for circulation) suitable for managing such cold liquids? Pumping performance: a (few) litre(s) per min, little pressure difference. It should be as cheap as possible

August 22, 2012One of our members suggests you try Cryogenic Industries for pumps that are good at LNG, LN temperatures. He said: “They are relatively cheap, but they may be too large. That would push you into the ranges covered by Barber Nichols – have him give Jim Dillard a call. Not cheap, but not as expensive as a Linde or Air Liquide cold pump.”
You can look up pumps in the Buyer’s Guide at http://www.cryogenicsociety.org.
