We are a small Food Chemistry Laboratory functioning within the Seychelles Bureau of Standards. We wish to purchase a cryostat for the purpose of storing fish samples at *-20ºC* prior to the analysis of Histamine in the tissue of Tuna by HPLC.
As per the EU requirement, fishery products should be tested using the HPLC analytical method, with reference to the following papers /(Assay of biogenic amines involved in fish decomposition, Journal AOAC International 1996, 79, 43-49)/. We are in the process of seeking ISO 17025 accreditation and will be using the above method for the analysis of Histamine in fish bound for export to EU countries.
The method dictates the use of a cryostat set at *-20ºC* for the grinding of 5 gram fish samples with 10ml perchloric acid and 100 µL 1, 3-diaminopropane dihydrochloride using an ultraturrax apparatus set at 20,000 rpm.
We have built up our capacity for the test with the exception of the cryostat. We would be grateful if you could help us in choosing the most suitable cryogenic equipment for this purpose as we are having some difficulty in doing so. Please send us quotation of different models of the most cost effective equipments and accessories if any which you may have.
We wish to able to acquire one that is large enough to accept up to approximately 36 x 5 grams samples of Tuna.
