ILC GDE Director Barry Barish has been chosen as the next Vice President of the American Physical Society (APS) beginning in January 2009; he will become President-Elect in 2010, and President in 2011.
Barish was also recently re-elected to the US National Science Board, where he will advise the US President and Congress on issues related to science and engineering research and education.
